Nvidia Nears $6 Trillion as AI Bets Drive Markets Higher

Nvidia is closing in on a $6 trillion market valuation, reinforcing the extraordinary financial scale of the artificial intelligence boom and making the chipmaker one of the most closely watched companies in global markets.

The company’s shares reached a record high on Monday, pushing Nvidia’s market capitalisation to roughly $5.76 trillion. The rally has been driven by continued investor confidence in demand for the processors powering AI models, data centres and advanced computing systems.

That optimism is supported by Nvidia’s financial performance. The company reported $96.2 billion in quarterly revenue for its latest quarter, more than double the figure from a year earlier, while data-centre revenue reached $89 billion. Gross margin remained around 75%, highlighting the profitability of the current AI infrastructure cycle.

Nvidia is also expanding beyond selling chips. The company has partnered with major investment firms including BlackRock, Blackstone, Apollo and KKR on financing platforms intended to mobilise more than $500 billion in third-party capital for AI infrastructure.

However, the valuation also raises questions for investors. Nvidia’s market value increasingly reflects expectations that AI spending will remain exceptionally strong, meaning any slowdown in data-centre investment, weaker customer demand or disappointment over future earnings could have an outsized effect on the stock.

For now, Nvidia’s approach to $6 trillion illustrates how rapidly AI has moved from a technology trend into a major financial market force. The bigger question for investors is whether the earnings generated by the AI buildout can continue expanding quickly enough to support valuations at this unprecedented level.
